چکیده

Carbon-fiber-reinforced epoxy composite (CEC) has gained widespread acceptance as a structural material in various applications. Drilled holes are essential for assembling components. Reducing drilling-induced damage and temperature effects is crucial improved surface quality integrity of the drilled composite. In present work, drilling experiments were conducted on CEC, hexagonal-boron nitride (h-BN) dispersed molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) CEC at three different levels spindle speed, feed, drill diameter using solid carbide twist drills. The filler concentrations used this study 4, 6, 8 wt%. Analysis variance (ANOVA) was to determine significance input factors (feed, diameter, concentration) responses such thrust force, temperature, arithmetic mean roughness (Ra), push-out delamination factor (DFexit). average Ra, DFexit MoS2 reduced by 24.7, 46.5, 11.3%, respectively, when compared neat CEC. h-BN 25.2, 40.9, 13.2%, lubricating properties high thermal conductivity added responsible lower hole finish. resistance filler-loaded due strengthening matrix fiber–matrix interface. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examine morphology surface. speed 5500 rpm, feed 0.03 mm.rev−1, loading 4 wt% produced minimum Ra DFexit. response method (RSM) applied parameters based multi-response optimum criteria.

Experimental Investigation of the Piezoresistive Properties of Cement Composites with Hybrid Carbon Fibers and Nanotubes

Cement-based sensors with hybrid conductive fillers using both carbon fibers (CFs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were experimentally investigated in this study. The self-sensing capacities of cement-based composites with only CFs or MWCNTs were found based on preliminary tests. The results showed that the percolation thresholds of CFs and MWCNTs were 0.5-1.0 vol.% and 1.0 vol.%, re...

Experimental Investigation of Metal Powder Compaction without Using Lubricant

The main objective of this work was to design a novel device for compaction of metal powders so that the green parts could be ejected with applying a negligible force and without the need for any lubricant in either an admixed form or applied to the die wall. For this purpose a 40 mm diameter one-piece die was envisaged which would elastically contracted 0.076 mm before compaction and after com...

An experimental investigation on thermal exposure during bone drilling.

This study presents an experimental investigation of the effects of spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of drilling on the temperature distribution during drilling of the cortical section of the bovine femur. In an effort to reduce measurement uncertainties, a new approach for temperature measurements during bone drilling is presented in this study. The new approach is based on a setup for prec...
